We're still working on our craft room, and aside from getting organized, we decided we needed some colorful inspiration as well. A rainbow wood letter sign with an inspirational word is a great way to brighten any space and add a little extra cheer. Plus, you don't have to be a carpenter to actually make your own wood sign! You don't even have to know how to use a hammer and nails. All you need is some heavy-duty glue and some paint; and since we had Aleene's The Ultimate Multi-Surface Adhesive on hand, and COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint left over from our rainbow shelves - and it works on wood - we were ready to CREATE.
- COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint - (we used: Cosmo, Orange Slice, Emoji, With a Twist, Clear Skies, Hello Handsome & Island Girl)
- Wood panel (ours is 1/8" x 8" x 24")
- Wood letters
- 3 square dowels (we used 3 for our sign but you might need more depending on the size of your base)
- Jigsaw or hand saw
- Plastic surface cover
First choose your colors (we know, this is probably an obvious step but look at how pretty this photo is!) ... since we are going with a rainbow theme in our craft room and we already had COLORSHOT spray paints on hand, this was an easy choice for us.
To make a frame for your wood sign, try using square dowels. Measure the length of each side of your wood base and saw the dowels to fit. Then spray all of your letters and frame pieces with COLORSHOT, letting dry between coats. Finish by gluing in place with The Ultimate.
It really is that easy to make a fab new sign for any room in your home or office! Don't you love this?! (Of course you do.)
