In the primary grades children are required to know and identify the seasons. This lesson will allow students to learn more about the changing seasons and the colors that identify them. The changing colors in our seasons and weather have helped artist’s form the spectrum of colors. Warm and cold colors help define an artist’s pallet, an artist’s feelings, and an artist’s style. Warm colors include the reds, yellows, and combinations of the two colors. Cold colors include blues, purples, and greens. Color is the object of this lesson. In designing these tiles, the idea is to use colors suited to the seasons. Each tile will represent a season and students will learn the seasons and colors that best describe weather and the seasons.
